Bunny Report Canada Edition

Friday, September 16th, 2005

Thanks to the seasoned world traveller TJ7, we now have the first ever Bunny Report : Canada !

Certainly it seems that bunnies in Canada are far more photo-friendly and inquisitive than their shy Australian cousins.

Thanks very much to TJ7 for his work! It really made my day.

My own bunnies have been in hiding for the last week – several times I’ve driven past the site, with no luck. Let’s hope the newly improved weather entices them back to my warm photographic embrace …

Bunny Report 09/09/05

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

Lately the bunnies seem concerned with hiding in and around people’s properties. This makes them a little bit harder to photograph, as I can hardly move onto people’s gardens to get a better picture.

bunny on the lawn

If this tactic continues, I may be forced to adopt new methods.

11:45pm

A quiet night. Driving soundtrack: Globe: globe2 pop/rock.

running away

Three bunnies were gathered together, but scattered when I drove past. When I came back for a second pass, only this one was left, and some distance away.

Notice mist in the air. This area is a natural basin between two hills, and regularly fills with mist; it can be quite spectacular some nights. Very difficult to photograph though.

I pursued the others ..

This one was hiding by a house. It ran away from the car and so I got out to chase it.

disappeared ...

But finally it hid behind the bush ….

11:40pm

Drove past the site. There were THREE bunnies there tonight. I even got what I think is a good photo of one, and was going to get more .. but then my damn camera ran out of battery. I can’t even upload it!

UPDATE: This is the best Bunny Report ever !!!

Hello, bunny

Bunny Report 17/08/05

Thursday, August 18th, 2005

11:45pm

Two bunnies nearly met a sticky end by running right in front of my car.

The strategy worked, however – in this way, the notoriously camera-shy bunnies escaped being photographed yet again.

In other news, petrol is now $1.25/litre, the highest in memory.

11:45pm

Bunny sighted and photographed. Now, this was at some distance and out a moving car window. But that is a bunny there, mark my words.

Bunny 11/08/05 11:45pm

Finally! Also saw a possum standing on its back legs, but the photo of that didn’t turn out at all.

Will endeavour to get better pictures in future, but it’s a bit difficult to drive and take pictures. Click to behold the bunny in all its high resolution glory.

Tonight’s driving soundtrack: “Know Your Enemy” by Yoko Kanno, “Asian NIGHT” by Globe.

BUNNY SIGHTED! Hiding under a large bush.
Before I could photograph him, he ran into the darkness.
Next time I will be ready.
