		<description>I think one of the key causes, believe it or not, is Twitter and it&#039;s 140-character limit. Twitter is popular, and even goes so far as to automatically convert long URLs into tinyurl quivalents. And people have gotten into the habit of using it.

But I share your dislike of tinyurl; I like to mouse-over the link and see where it will take me.</description>
