Seems that during one of the practically daily updates to fricking WordPress I managed to nuke the results for my animal poll on the right. Please vote again!
I am really, really getting sick of WordPress. It’s nice to use, but management and maintenance is a pain in the fucking ass.

I too am getting sick of WP, and PHP and PHP apps in general. But upgrading via Subversion is relatively painless:

Yeah, I already do that (otherwise i doubt i’d EVER upgrade) .. it was one of those subversion upgrades that somehow killed my poll. Guess something changed in the DB or something, the plugin thought it was a clean install, and re-initialised.
Not exactly the highest value data but still. Why can’t they implement some kind of automated update and versioning system? Almost no-one knows about svn… and why do they have to change shit around? Why can’t they set it up so the user files and the application files are, you know, seperate? They’re all intermingled currently and it’s a fucking mess, as you know.
Bah, the whole thing’s just a huge fucking mess. I’m only updating because of the security risks. Looking forward to getting away from WP though .. for all the time I’ve spent messing around with it, I could have written my own. Only thing I’m worried about going that course is comment spam.
